The Project

Austraw is Australia’s leading importer of Australia’s largest and most diverse range of drinking straws.

In 2014 Mick Krause acquired the Queensland Straw Factory. He wanted to give the company more of a national appeal: hence Austraw was born. Circle Media were involved in the brand re-design from the beginning. Working closely with Mick to create an identity that encapsulated the character of the company. The logo and branding were carried across stationary including business cards, letterhead, email signatures, price lists, signage and bumper stickers.

Circle Media designed the packaging for the straw boxes. It was requested for the design to be created in a single colour, where different print colours were used to quickly and easily distinguish between the straw varieties. Retail straw packaging was created in full colour design. The packaging was a team effort, where Austraw sourced the boxes and bags and arranged the printing of the Circle Media designs.

An informative and easy to navigate responsive website design was developed to provide information on Austraw and it’s sub-brands as well as to offer a gateway for product sales (this element was implemented externally).
