Circle Media’s tips for online shopping and online reviews
In todays digital age online shopping has become the norm. However, sometimes it is hard to know if you’re purchasing from a legitimate seller. Online reviews at times can complicate the matter even further – one person gives the item or seller a 5 star review while the next person reviews with only one star. Andy offers some hints for sifting through online reviews and offers a secret tip for getting the most out of your online shopping experience; potentially saving you a few dollars in the process.

G’day. Andy from Circle Media. How are you going? I’m just catching up on a bit of Kardashian news and a bit of online shopping. I’ve got a few tips for you today about online shopping and online reviews. We’ll start with the reviews side first.
Now, I think everybody’s bought something online where they’ve looked at the reviews and thought, “Geez, you know? That seems pretty good.” Look, the old story is true. lf it’s too good to be true, it generally is. There are many, many sources for online reviews for products. Go and have a look around and see as many sources of reviews as you can find.
Tripod Industry runs tripod ones who aren’t allied with retailers and you’ll probably get a much more accurate view of the product you’re buying. They can work both ways. There are people out there trash talking on reviews – they might have a simple problem with it or just don’t like the product. But at the end of the day, it will be weighted numbers. The greater weight of numbers you can look at the reviews, the better off you’ll be.
But just another little tip for online shopping, if you want to drive online retailers mad, go and find the product you want and drop it into the shopping cart left, right and centre. But don’t transact it. Just leave it there for a few days and see what happens.
If the cookies are running right on the machine and those businesses are doing their job right, you’ll probably find you’ll start to get offers back in the next few days that might be 10 or 20% off. The reason being, you’re doing the thing that drives online retailers mad. You’ve just about done every step in the process to buy that product, but you haven’t cleared the final hurdle, which is giving them money. And so, their systems are setup to actually come back and offer you discounts or offers of whatever else it might be to get you over the line.
It’s a little trick. It’s very simple but it’s worth a try. If you’re buying online, give it a run and just watch what happens in the next few days. It might work. It might save you a few dollars. It might not.
